Art Students go to Cornwall
Last week 29 art students took part in a four-day research and recording visit to Cornwall. Although the weather was not always on our side, the students worked conscientiously throughout the entire four days. We enjoyed a walk at dusk in Penzance, seeing the fantastic artwork by Kurt Jackson and Barbara Hepworth, painting on the beaches in St Ives and making sand sculptures as well as drawing in the rainforest at the Eden Project.
It was fun to end the visit at the Eden Project by taking part in the SkyWire experience – England’s longest and fastest zip wire! Although the journey home was thwarted by heavy traffic, we enjoyed one last opportunity to put our artistic skills to the test by stopping off at Stonehenge.
A massive thank you to all the students who were a credit to our school and also to the staff involved for all their hard work to ensure the trip ran smoothly.
