Cheam High are the Cross Country Champions of Sutton!
On Thursday 19th October students from each year group represented the school at Sutton Borough Cross Country Championships. With full teams in each age category, Cheam were confident of a good result.
Every student was a credit to themselves and the school, with their brilliant effort and attitude. The Year 7 Girls got Cheam off to a great start by coming third, with the Year 7 Boys team finishing seventh. The Year 8/9 Girls and Boys teams finished third and fourth respectively. To finish the day, the Year 10/11 Girls and Boys teams both finished in seventh place in two very competitive races.
Some notable individual performances came from, Lily (second), Max (eighth), Maisie (first) and Roxy (third). As the afternoon came to a close the results were added up and all the students’ hard work paid off as they finished joint first place with Stanley Park! Cheam will hold the trophy until Easter before passing to Stanley Park until next year’s event when we aim to be outright winners!
Congratulations to every student and good luck to those students who have qualified for the next round of the competition.
