Dear Parents and Carers,

I write to confirm that, as per government guidance, Cheam High School will be reopening to all students for the 2020/2021 academic year.  As noted in last term’s flyer, Year 7 and Year 9 students will begin their term on Monday 7th September and Years, 8, 10 and 11 will start on Tuesday 8th September as detailed below:

Year 7 Monday 7th September 8.20am until 2.40pm

8.20am - Students should arrive at school by the Stoughton Road entrance (staff will be on hand to direct them) and make their way to the Canopy Area by the Main Hall.

2.40pm – Dismissal at Stoughton Road.

Year 9 Monday 7th September 12.50pm until 2.40pm

12.50pm - Students should arrive at school by the Chatsworth Road entrance (staff will be on hand to direct them) and they will be directed to their tutor rooms for an extended tutor time

2.40pm – Dismissal at Chatsworth Road.

Years 7-11 Tuesday 8th September

8.20am – Year 7 arrive at Stoughton and Year 8 arrive at Chatsworth ready for extended tutor time and periods 2-5

8.30am – Year 10 arrive at Stoughton and Year 11 arrive at Chatsworth ready for extended tutor time and periods 2-5

9.40am – Year 9 arrive at Chatsworth ready for periods 2-5

2.40pm – Years 7, 8 and 9 dismissal

2.50pm – Years 10 and 11 dismissal

Students must ensure that they arrive on time for their entrance and that they enter the school site straight away rather than congregating with friends.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our students back to school after such a long absence.  Of course, senior colleagues and I have planned a number of changes to the running of the school to ensure that we are able to operate as safely as possible.  These include staggered start times and some alterations to the school day.  You can find detailed information about these changes here and FAQs for students here

Please ensure that you read this document carefully before term begins.  I hope that it will answer any questions you may have and reassure both you and your children about their return to school.

I wish all staff and students a restful final week of the summer holidays and very much look forward to the beginning of this new academic year.

Regards,

Mr P Naudi
