SCHOOL CLOSURE GUIDANCE AND CURRENT SITUATION

Dear Parents / Carers,

Re: SCHOOL CLOSURE GUIDANCE AND CURRENT SITUATION

Once again we all find ourselves in a very challenging situation.  As with the first phase of school closure, we will be doing our utmost to ensure that your children are able to continue their learning as best as possible.  As with many schools, we learned a lot from the first closure and, this time, are better equipped to provide more live and interactive learning to your children which we hope will help ensure that the quality of their learning is maintained.

Given the short notice at which we had to prepare, and the fact that we did not opt for a staff inset day to start the term, we are also very pleased that the vast majority of students were able to log-in and successfully participate in online learning yesterday and today.  Your positive communication regarding this has been very much appreciated by staff.  Likewise, your feedback has helped identify one or two technological teething problems which we are already rectifying.

Of course, we again appreciate that this situation places considerable strain on some households and that this may be a time of high anxiety for students and parents/carers alike.  Please keep communicating with us regarding any issues your child may be experiencing, be they learning related or pastoral in nature and staff will continue to do their very best to assist and support.

Tomorrow, we will upload a School Closure Guide to the website.  This will provide details of exactly how the next few weeks will work.  We hope that this will answer a number of the questions that you are likely to have.  The guide will cover various aspects of how the school will function in coming weeks, including how safeguarding and pastoral care will work, through to Covid testing and what to do if you have problems accessing our online learning provision.

We hope that you will find this useful and informative but, of course, please do contact us via the usual channels if you have any further questions or queries.  We will alert you by email once this is on the website.

Thank you for your enduring support.  We wish you all the very best with home learning and look forward to working in close partnership with you throughout this challenging period.

Yours faithfully,

Mr P Naudi
