Cheam High School Tennis Scholarship Scheme is a partnership between the school and Sutton Tennis Academy, the LTA Centre of Excellence in Surrey, whereby exceptionally gifted junior tennis players can study for academic qualifications whilst maintaining a programme of daily coaching, fitness training and tournament preparation.
Players often start their day with 7am fitness, followed by showering and changing ready for the bus transfer to school. They then complete their academic commitments before catching the bus back to the academy to complete their tennis training and further high performance training.
Every player has an individual daily programme which accommodates their training, travelling and study times. The programme offers great support to the young adults in fulfilling their academic commitments while aspiring to reach their true sporting potential. There are currently 9 players on this scheme attending Cheam High School Sixth Form.
