Heaton

Mr Heaton is Subject Leader of Social Science. He graduated from the University of Essex. He has co-authored and co-edited a number of books and articles used in schools and universities around the country. He is particularly interested in criminology, clinical and criminal psychology. He has a real passion for teaching and learning and is always looking for new ways to motivate and inspire his students. He is a former A level examiner. His extra-curricular passions are hiking, current and social affairs, design and architecture, music, visiting galleries, museums and national trust houses. He also likes a hot curry!

JamesMiss James is the Progression and Super-curricular Leader for sixth form including being the lead coordinator for the Extended Project, she also teaches Psychology and Sociology. She graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Sociology with Psychology. After university she won a graduate sales position before completing her PGCE in Social Sciences from Leicester University. Miss James is incredibly committed to supporting students in their ambitions beyond sixth form, and firmly believes in ensuring all students make the best informed decisions. She has a keen interest in mental health, the use of mindfulness within schools and the portrayal of feminism in modern society. Her extra-curricular passions include keeping fit by running and British Military Fitness, accessing all that London has to offer and being a proud Welsh rugby supporter!          

TaylorMiss Taylor is KS5 Literacy and Communications Coordinator and teaches Sociology and Psychology. She graduated from the University of Sussex. As an undergraduate she completed an Erasmus programme where she networked with social scientists from across Europe. She has previously run a Sociology department and is an experienced sixth form tutor. She is particularly interested in criminology and cross-cultural research. She has a creative flair and enjoys injecting this into her teaching. Her extra-curricular interests include mountain biking, photography and immersive theatre.
