Reporting on Students' Progress

Welcome to Reporting at Cheam High School

We have a very thorough reporting system at Cheam High School and aim to keep parents and carers well informed of their child’s academic progress, attitude and behaviour in school.

Teachers and the Leadership Team place great importance on reporting to ensure that every effort is made to help students achieve their potential.

Each Key Stage has targeted reports:

Key Stage 3 (Year 7 and Year 8)

One report per term which will be one of the following:
  • Progress Report - includes an Indicator of Performance at KS4 (KIP) and teachers' assessment on progress, effort, behaviour and homework.
  • Progress and Focus Report – includes a KIP and teachers' assessment on progress, effort, behaviour, homework and, in addition, a comment on key areas to focus improvement for each subject studied.  During the Spring term of Year 8, teachers of selected subjects may also recommend a student to study either GCSE or BTEC as one of their Year 9 option subjects. This will also show as a Focus comment.
  • Tutor Report – includes information on attendance/behaviour and Tutor comments on overall progress and attitude to learning.
