Welcome to the Cheam High Weather Page!

For our AS Level Geography course, we are required to keep a weather diary as a piece of fieldwork for our "Extreme Weather" unit. To help us collect this information, we will be updating this page every day and keeping weekly records, using information collected from our very own weather station at 1pm each day.

Our weather station is located on top of the P Block, on the west side. We know that this causes some problems, for example, the staff room shelters the station from the wind. However, it's one of the best sites in the school and is close enough to our classroom.

The information collected at the weather station is then sent wirelessly to the WS300 in Miss Hughes' classroom. Amongst other things, it measures temperature and humidity, wind speed and chill, air pressure and sunrise and sunset times.

In addition to helping us complete our weather diaries, this will also help us understand how the weather can be measured. For example, rainfall is measured by a rain gauge, air pressure by a barometer, wind speed by an anemometer and, of course, temperature by a thermometer.
