A Midsummer Night’s Dream

From Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th July a talented team of students from Years 7 to 12 performed their summer production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to sold-out audiences.

This production was another great triumph, building on the success of last year’s performances of Macbeth, and again saw students of all ages taking on Shakespeare’s original language with confidence and skill, producing an impressive performance after only nine weeks of rehearsal. With students in charge of makeup, props, lighting and sound, this was also a fantastically student-led production, allowing the teachers the chance to sit back and enjoy what had been created. Our audiences were laughing out loud at the mischief of our fairy ensemble; the confusion of the lovers and the over-acting of the players all the way through. Reviews have been glowing.

Congratulations to all the students involved.

Thank you to the English and Drama departments for their support for this show and particularly to Mr Roy, Miss Coady and Miss Cook for another fantastic opportunity for our students to demonstrate their talents.
