Years 7 and 8 Sports Days
Posted: 7/07/23

On Friday 30th June the PE department held brand new Sports Days for Year 7 and 8!
The event was a team event and every student in the Tutor Group took part in at least one race, with students really getting into the Sports Day spirit!
Fields events included Javelin, Welly Throwing, Hoopla and Penalty shoot outs, where Mr Draper from PE, in goal, proved very difficult to beat!
Track events included an obstacle course, a fancy dress race and the good old favourite – the egg and spoon race! Students also competed in sprints and relays!
The final event was a team event which involved ten students in each team completing the ‘over-under’ challenge!
A particular highlight was the finale - with the teachers vs students tug of war - where the students were victorious in both Year 7 and Year 8!
It was lovely to see students supporting each other and cheering for everyone no matter the outcome of the races!
Thank you again to our Year 9 and 10 Sports Leaders who were excellent in managing all the various race equipment and helping score the events! And, of course, a huge Well Done Year 7 and 8!
