Year 10 Art Trip to Cornwall

Last weekend, our Year 10 GCSE Art students set out on a residential trip to Cornwall. Against the backdrop of the picturesque Cornish coast, they practised art skills such as perspective, mark making and observational drawing.

A notable part of the trip was a visit to the Eden Project, home to the world's largest greenhouse. Here, students had the opportunity to sketch and paint unusual plants in the biome, alongside a thrilling ride on England's fastest zip line.

During the trip, students visited the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Kurt Jackson Foundation Gallery. These stops provided students with insights into the techniques used by renowned artists and allowed them to gather material for their GCSE Art coursework.

The Art students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and gained valuable knowledge through their hands on interactions with art and nature. We are sure the trip to Cornwall will leave a lasting impression on the students’ artistic journeys.
