On Tuesday 14th November, some of the Year 10 & 11 GCSE and A-Level Dance students took part in a professional dance workshop run by James Cousins Dance Company.

Students took part in a class warm up where they learnt small phrases and new movement vocabulary. As the workshop progressed, students learnt a wide range of lifts; students were doing handstands in the air whilst others were holding, they were being flipped around and whizzed across the floor whilst being turned.

All students had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. They now have the opportunity to use these skills and new lifts within their choreography. The students were also given insight information about the dance work ‘Within Her Eyes’ which students write about in the Year 11 written paper, with key tips on how to get full marks.
