On Tuesday this week, Year 8 students were very fortunate to be joined in school by our guest speaker Spike Reid.

Spike has been on various expeditions throughout his career but came in to speak about his GangesSUP travels during which he led a team down the entire length of the River Ganges on just a paddle board. As well as seeing some amazing sites, the primary goal from the trip was to raise awareness about the water pollution and having made a Discovery Channel documentary, the message has been shared to thousands of viewers.

The Year 8 students conducted themselves brilliantly and were a real credit to the school and they also asked some fantastic questions. The Geography department will follow up with some work around the Ganges in lessons. Well done Year 8!
