Uniform & Hot Weather Updates

Uniform & Hot Weather Updates - 17th June 2025:

As the weather is due to be hot in coming days, we need to manage expectations of uniform along with a sensible approach to students being comfortable.  We will email out expectations for uniform for next week by the end of this week.

From Wednesday 18th June to Friday 20th June:

1. Students do not need to bring in a blazer.

2. Students do not need to wear ties BUT should wear lanyards at all times.

3. Students should not be wearing coats or jumpers without a blazer.

4. Students should have a full water bottle for each day; this can then be refilled at break and lunchtime.  Students should not be leaving lessons to fill water bottles.

Please also ensure that students are wearing high factor sunscreen so they are protected during social times and outdoor PE lessons.  Students can also wear hats during these times for additional protection.

Uniform Update 6th June 2025:

We would like to make you aware of a temporary adjustment to our school uniform policy for the final half term of this academic year.

Following requests from groups of students, the Local Governing Body has carefully considered the possibility of allowing students to wear shorts during the summer months. I am pleased to announce that they have agreed to a trial period whereby students may opt to wear Black or Charcoal Grey shorts during the final six weeks of this term.

It is important to note that this change is not compulsory, and students who prefer to continue wearing their standard school trousers or skirts are welcome to do so.

The trial will permit the wearing of black or charcoal grey tailored shorts only. These should be knee-length and of a similar style to those shown in the photographs below.

Shorts summer 2025We kindly request that parents ensure that any shorts purchased adhere to the guidelines of being black or charcoal grey, tailored and knee-length. Should you require further clarification or guidance regarding appropriate styles, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Suitable shorts are available from our designated uniform supplier https://www.swischoolwear.co.uk in Charcoal grey, but you can also purchase from other major supermarkets and retailers.

We view this trial as a way to enhance student comfort during the warmer weather while maintaining our school's smart and professional appearance. The success of this trial will be reviewed by the Local Governing Body in due course.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that all students should come to school with a named water bottle. This is even more important in the warmer months, to keep the children hydrated and comfortable in class. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation
