Recent winners:
Archie - Year 10
Representing the PE department, I would like to nominate Archie for the following reasons:
Archie has passed all of his GCSE theory exams to date with flying colours, achieving nothing less than a grade 8. Archie has also volunteered as a sports leader, helping out at events across our departments such as inter-tutor events, Open Evening and primary school sports days. Archie has never missed a H/W and completes this to an excellent standard at all times.
Archie represents the school in table tennis and attends club after school regularly. He is also a member of a table tennis club outside of school and plays competitively. Archie is also training to complete a half marathon next year.
Keira - Year 11
Keira is always so enthusiastic in Hair and Beauty. She is the first in the classroom every lesson, setting up the room and can’t get waited to start on a student’s hair. If anyone is on their own, she shows kindness and includes them in her group or changes to partner up with them, so they aren’t left out.
Keira was absolutely fantastic at Open Evening; so many parents commented on how lovely she was, she was on her feet for 3 hours plaiting hair and even when she had challenging students with thick knotty hair, she just embraced it as a challenge. She spoke confidently to parents and showed a great impression of the department, as well as herself.
We went on a trip to Salon International, where she couldn’t wait to go around looking at everything. She got involved in all of the stands, really making the most of the day. She was my 'right-hand man' with the journey, giving me the platform numbers and times the trains left in advance, making the journey a lot less stressful for me.
Keira is always bubbly, with a great big smile on her face which lifts up the lesson, making it a lovely environment to be in with her around.
Kristina - Year 11
The PE department and myself would like to nominate Kristina. She always helps out with any inter-tutor events, Open Evenings and sporting clubs we have on. She did this continually last year and has carried on this year, despite being in Year 11 and juggling all her studies.
Kristina's attitude is spot on, and she is an outstanding role model to the younger students, helping them learn about netball and taking a leading role umpiring their games.
In lessons, she works extremely hard and is always pushing herself and the others around her to be better. She is a pleasure to teach and a credit to the school and the PE department.
