On Sunday 12th April, Luca in Year 8 was awarded his Karate Black Belt.

The ceremony took place at MP Elite Fitness Martial Arts Academy. Luca’s Karate black belt grading was an extremely demanding process that pushed him to his absolute limit. It required significant training and preparation and an elite athlete level of fitness and technical knowledge.

Luca had to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the full Kyokushin Karate syllabus, which included multiple techniques of strikes, kicks, blocks, punches, and katas, all performed and recited in Japanese. The grading concluded with a fitness test and a continuous 15-person fight line-up. The grading lasted a total of six hours.

Luca has been practising Karate since the age of 4 and being awarded his black belt in Karate is a great honour and lifetime achievement.
