Sixth Form Information Update
Very well done to Year 12 and 13 for their positive start to the school year.
There have been many changes to the school and the school day, in particular for Year 13, and we are very proud of how the students have returned and settled in. The sixth form block has study, social and outside areas as well as a cafe for both year groups.
Students have made good starts to their studies and are making good use of the study areas. They all have accounts for Show My Homework and IRIS which need to be checked on a daily basis and we have also sent home details for parent/carer accounts.
Support in the sixth form is excellent – from the sixth form team, tutors, teachers and other staff in school. If any student would like a Learning Mentor to support them with their work or organisation, please remind them to ask in the Sixth Form office.
Year 12 and 13 have already had virtual assemblies about the sixth form and progression respectively and are receiving rewards from staff. Tutor time in Year 12 has included various activities to help students get to know each other and their tutor, how to approach and make the right start to Year 12 and the five day challenge. Freshers Week in Year 12 was successful with many students joining in.
In Year 13 tutor time this half-term is largely based on progression, including support for university applications and apprenticeships. Year 13 UCAS deadlines:
• Education section on application form: Today Friday 25th September
• Personal Statement draft into tutor: Friday 23rd October
• Cheam Internal UCAS Deadline: Friday 20th November
The Information Evenings in October will cover a range of areas regarding Year 12 and progression for Year 13.
If you have any questions about the sixth form or you would like information on the bursary scheme, please contact the Sixth Form Management Team on email@example.com.
We would like to wish all our sixth form students the very best for this year.
