Learning Chemistry is a Piece of cake!
When you think about it, Chemistry is a lot like baking as both involve precision, measurements, timing and a certain elegance in the kitchen.
Therefore, during the recent lockdown, some of our KS3 students were tasked with combining baking and Chemistry to produce a delectable product that represented the States of Matter topic we would start in the Summer term.
Once the liquid was mixed, the chemical reaction took place in the oven, water vapours allowed mixture to expand and coagulation of the egg protein caused it to set as a solid.
Their results from all this are all shown in these incredible baked goods and some very happy Chemists!
