Construction Students - Top of the Tables!
This year the standard of tables made by our construction students has been higher than usual. This is a challenging project that takes them through learning new skills to create a table that is truly impressive and something to be proud of.
The tables are made using wood joints and glue, no nails or screws.
The key stages shown in the photos are:
make the legs and rails
cut the mortise and tenon joints
glue and clamp together the frame
cut and glue the top design
Then to finish, sand down, apply a coat of natural oil, then sand again followed by wax and polish.
Well done to all Construction students for their excellent work!
