World Book Week in the Library!
Posted: 12/03/26

The library team thoroughly enjoyed celebrating World Book Week and would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the students who showed up, got involved, entered competitions and made the week so much fun.
The week began with the “One Image, One Story” activity. Using just a single image and their imagination, students created some fantastic pieces of writing - from funny, to dramatic, to wonderfully creepy stories. Their creativity really impressed us!
The library was also packed out for the popular Big Bookish Quiz, which is always a hit. We were very impressed by the students’ incredible book knowledge - there are clearly some real book experts in our school!
A big thank you as well to everyone who recreated beautiful and eye-catching book covers from their favourite novels. The effort and creativity have been amazing to see. Students still have until the end of this week to hand them in.
World Book Day itself was fantastic fun! Thank you to everyone who came along to the Book and Cake Sale. We are thrilled that so many students took new books home to enjoy, and all the money raised will go straight back into thelibrary so that we can buy more of the books that students have recommended.
The Top Ten Must-Reads list was also a huge hit with lots of students asking to borrow books featured on it. The one everyone seemed most excited to get their hands on was Dread Wood by Jennifer Killick, which proved to be a clear favourite!
Thank you again to all the students who helped make it such a brilliant week in the library. We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing many of them back in the library soon!
