As part of the A level PE course students are required to complete a unit on skill acquisition, where they learn about types of skills, how skills are developed and how technology can enhance this process.

To support their leaning in a practical setting the Year 12 class took a trip to Caddy Club in Wimbledon to try out the golf simulators.

There was an array of levels on display – essentially Joe was great and the rest of us were useless! But this was an excellent way to demonstrate the difference between cognitive and autonomous learners – part of the course content.

The students had a great time trying out the high tech golf range – some of them even returned to a local driving range the following week to try and improve their skills!
