EPSOM COLLEGE UNIVERSITY FAIR – THURSDAY 18TH JUNE
Year 12 students recently attended a Personal Statement Talk and University Fair at Epsom College. The students who attended said that they found the experience extremely beneficial. The event provided an excellent opportunity to speak directly with university representatives and alumni, gaining valuable insights into university life, courses, and application pathways. Students particularly appreciated the expert advice and guidance on UCAS applications and personal statements, helping them to make informed decisions about their future studies. Set within the beautiful grounds of Epsom College, the fair was both informative and inspiring, leaving students feeling more confident and prepared for their university journey.
CONSENT WORKSHOPS
On Wednesday 24th June speakers from Talk Consent came into school to deliver two separate workshops to all Y12 students. The first workshop included in-depth discussions on sexual consent with high levels of student interaction, whilst the second workshop aimed to empower students to call out harmful sexual behaviour and attitudes. These topics are encompassed within the Relationships and Sexual Health Education students receive in the Sixth Form as part of the wider PSHE curriculum.
PROGRESSION MORNING
Progression Morning for Year 12 took place on Thursday 25th June. Students were encouraged to discuss and research the opportunities available to them once they leave school. Some students chose to explore University pathways whilst others prepared CV and Cover letters for Apprenticeship providers.
All Year 12 students came away from the day having begun their UCAS applications or with a completed CV or Cover Letter. The next step for many will be completing their Personal Statement ready to send off to Universities before the UCAS deadline of January 13th 2027.
Guidance for both the UCAS and Apprenticeship application process have been shared with all of Year 12 on Arbor and will be emailed home to parents/carers.
The feedback from Progression morning has been very positive with staff commenting how engaged students were in planning for their futures.
Well done Year 12.
