Parents/Carers update 6th January

Dear Parents/Carers,

As promised in yesterday’s letter, we have now produced a guide to this current school closure period which you can access on the school website by clicking here.  We hope that this will provide answers to many of the questions that you may already have, or that may arise in coming days.  The guide is a series of questions and answers in four sections as follows:

  • Questions about online/home learning
  • General questions about the current situation
  • Questions about on-site provision for key workers’ children and vulnerable groups
  • Safeguarding and Wellbeing

Scroll down to the area in which you require information, then select from the list of questions for specific responses.  Of course, if you feel you need further information on any matter, or have a question that we have not covered, please contact us via the usual channels.

Many of you will also now be aware that the Education Secretary today clarified that this year’s exams will be replaced by teacher assessed grades.  At the moment, the exact nature of this process is to be determined but information is provided in the guide in the General Questions section.  You can jump directly to this information by clicking here.  If your child is due to sit exams later this year, please be assured that we will contact you separately with further information in due course.  In the meantime, contact email addresses are provided in the guide if you, or your child, have any further questions at this stage.

As we have all become very used to hearing, this remains an evolving situation and we will keep you updated as best we can with any changes and developments on all fronts.

I hope that your children are all accessing and enjoying their online learning as best as possible and wish you and your families all the very best for coming weeks.

Yours faithfully,

Mr P Vosper

Deputy Headteacher
